Research Intern, AI + Cloud Engineering Group

During the senior year in my college life, I grasped an internship opportunity at Microsoft Cloud and AI Engineering Group for one year to be a Research Engineer Intern and to learn cloud technologies leveraging on remote edge devices. In the internship, I worked on helping to promote IoT solutions to 10+ business partner and built POC (Covers Smart City/Retail/Home/Manufacturing) leveraging Azure Cloud and Edge computing services. For example, I designed and built a high integration visual platform for industrial production lines with standard protocol OPCUA which can exchange information among machines from different companies. Besides, I quarterly performed hands-on updated documents of technical workshops and provide support of Azure to those Microsoft’s engineering partners.

Technical Teaching Leader, Microsoft 2017 Coding Angel Bootcamp

“When we women can use our talent and energy, we begin to speak in our own voices for our own values, and that makes everybody’s life better.” -- Melinda Gates

I served as the technical teaching leader of Microsoft 2017 Coding Angel bootcamp which is one of the largest coding workshops for girls in STEM in Taiwan. I designed/created Azure Machine Learning hands-on materials with Microsoft Data Scientists for teaching 100+ college girls basic machine learning knowledge and shared my self-experience about how to learn CS with interests and motivation.

In order to expertise my knowledge in data science, I also passed the examination and eared the Microsoft Data Science Certificate from Microsoft Professional Program (MPP).

Technical Conducter, 2017 IoT EXPO

I served as a 2017 IoT Expo/Booth Tour Technical Conductor to introduce Microsoft IoT technologies with 20+ partner showcases to global visitors. During the two-day event, there were 1700 participants, coming from 17 countries and 384 enterprises.

Visiting

Visiting scholar, University of Florida

During my first graduate year, I went to UF as a visiting scholar at Security in Silicon Lab (SSL) for 6 months in 2019. Under the supervision of Prof. Yier Jin, I co-worked with the Ph.D. students there and focused on the problem about information leakage from Machine Learning as a Service (MLaaS). Our research was published in NDSS, one of the top cybersecurity conference in 2020.

Conference and Workshop Attendance

NeurIPS'19 NewInML workshop, Vancouver Canada

I attended the Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) NewInML Workshop held at Vancouver, Canada as the first author in 2019. Besides present on my poster session, I also attended the main conference to see intersting research from others. I really experienced a lot of exotic culture and made a lots of friends from other universities or countries.
